We are currently testing our first products and look to be selling units commercially in June. We are currently looking for Beta testers for our 3-axis positioning system in kit form for use as a mill. More information on becoming a beta tester is available here.
3-axis positioning systems
Cassius is our 3-axis positioning system ready to be turned into a CNC mill or 3D printer.
Initially Cassius will be selling as a kit including the positioning system, stepper motors, and all the electronics and software needed to assemble and use the kit. Our custom electronics uses USB so it does not require a computer with a parallel port. Cassius has 6×7x2 inches of travel. An automated tool height measurement system is included standard to allow for software tool changes, and limit switches are provided on all of the axes to allow for homing and software adjustment of backlash.
We designed the mill for people living in dorms or apartments where they have no garage or shop space and have neighbors, roommates, wives, or husbands whom they need to keep happy. The kit can be assembled with minimal hand tools – and is enclosed in a case to help noise down and trap cutting debris inside the case for easy cleanup.
Accessories
We are currently designing both a touch probe and automatic tool changer to offer with versions of our mill. Look back for more information once Cassius is available for sale.
